Fridge & Freezer repair - your questions answered
My fridge isn't cooling - what should I do first?
Check the thermostat hasn't been knocked down and that the door seal is closing fully. If it's still warm after a couple of hours, switch it off to protect the compressor and give us a call - cooling faults are usually a thermostat, fan or compressor relay, all repairable.
Can you regas a fridge or freezer?
Where the refrigerant circuit is accessible, yes. Some modern units have sealed systems where regassing isn't economical - we'll test first and tell you honestly which situation you're in before any charge.
Why is my freezer building up ice?
Usually a failed defrost heater, a faulty thermostat or a worn door seal letting moist air in. Ice buildup forces the compressor to work harder, so it's worth fixing quickly before it becomes a bigger bill.
How long does a fridge or freezer repair take?
Most repairs are completed within 48 hours of your call. We carry common thermostats, fans and relays on the van, so many faults are fixed on the first visit.
